The Ivy, Glasgow

The Ivy Collection is a group of restaurants, brasseries and cafes, established in London and now growing regionally across the UK.

We were delighted to receive their first commission for the group in Glasgow. A former bank: Fileturn have transformed this Grade II listed building in Buchanan Street into their latest brasserie style restaurant to add to their growing chain.

With challenging conditions, situated in a busy pedestrian area, deliveries and access for the 16-week project were restricted. Site constraints with minimal storage facilities required 'just in time' and out of hours deliveries requiring meticulous planning and co-ordination.

The project included substantial enabling works to open-up and form the dining area on the ground floor for 200 covers and a private dining room at first floor. Both accessed by new lifts and a feature bronze staircase. Custom made bar serveries were formed to serve both areas.

A range of bespoke finishes were used, imported from around the world. These included Italian porcelain and marble, laid to complex geometrical patterns, American and French light fittings and bespoke stained-glass wall and window panels.

In addition to the structural alterations and full internal fit out, Fileturn completed external renovations and upgrades preserving this stunning Grade II listed building.
