Royal China Club, London

Royal China Club is the flagship Chinese restaurant of the Group, found on Baker Street in the West End of London.

As the flagship restaurant, it was important that this restaurant not only matched its counterparts but went above and beyond on all aspects of the project.

The site was extended into the adjacent building which was previously a building society. This required the refurbishment of the shop front across both buildings, including a new façade and signage.

The extension added an additional 50% floor space to the restaurant.

Extensive preparation had to be made for the installation of a brand new kitchen, including services and drainage. We also undertook work around the riser and through the floors above in order to install a extractor system. It was important that we maintained working relationship with neighbouring tenants whilst this was implemented.

M&E and lighting was installed throughout the building, as well as new air conditioning units that were placed within the kitchen and dining area.

The cosmetic element of the project included laying wooden panels to the walls and a combination of carpet and tiling was fitted to the floors. At the front and back of the restaurant two bars were crafted in marble to fit in with the elegant surroundings. Finally, partitioned doors were used to offer a private dining experience which can be pushed back to create a vibrant environment.
