Five Guys Roll-out

Five Guys are a well established burger chain in the US, with the first unit in Washington DC opening in the early 1980’s. Over twenty years on and with more than 1500 locations in the US, the owners aim to introduce the brand to the UK, with the help of a specialist contractor with expertise in this area of the market.

Fileturn’s track record fitted requirements and were awarded the contract for the fit-out of the flag-ship store in Covent Garden.

The Long Acre site was completely stripped out at ground floor and basement levels. The fit-out, following the same red, white and black design as the American restaurants, consisted of a new open kitchen, serving counter and seating on the ground floor, with a new prep kitchen, seating areas with vaulted areas and new toilets in the basement. The basement had to be tanked and was accessed by a specially constructed glass and steel staircase.

The smooth running of the initial project meant Fileturn have been appointed to roll-out the brand across all other UK sites.

"Guys,

Today sees the 5th anniversary of our first store in Covent Garden, we have gone on to open over 100 stores in 4 different countries within those 5 years.

I truly believe this was made possible by the solid foundation you all gave us a Covent Garden along with all your hard work since then.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you all, you will always be the “originals”, here’s to the next 100!"
