Côte, Henley

Having been instrumental in the Côte roll-out delivering in excess of 80 restaurants in the UK, Fileturn were commissioned as the Principal Contractor for this newly branded Côte restaurant, ensuring that the re-brand brief to deliver a livelier look that appeals to a younger audience was met.

Fileturn carried out a full strip-out as the premises had previously been a retail unit. An outbuilding in the courtyard was demolished and an extension was built to increase capacity.

This project was logistically challenging as the site was on a corner plot on a one-way street, with no parking outside and two pedestrian crossings to work around. Equipment and materials could only arrive/leave via the front door, including the concrete for the extension foundations, reclaimed bricks which were used for the extension and two 3.5m sized lantern windows.

Internally Fileturn built a new bar, laid new flooring – wooden and tiled, including a bespoke Côte mosaic entrance, created a coffered ceiling to give a strong visual statement, installed two new hoists for food and deliveries and developed the space for the new kitchen and back of house areas. Polished plaster was used as a specialist finish in the new extension, which an artist then painted on to create a bespoke wall covering in the space.

This project demonstrated our capabilities in construction as well as refurbishment as Côte embarks on a new era of their brand.
