Launched in 2014, the Curio Collection by Hilton is one of the groups 18 brands.

In 2019 Fileturn were commissioned to undertake a complete fit out of the hotel just prior to the global covid pandemic. Trying to deliver the project to schedule while dealing with the constraints that the pandemic provided was one of the most complicated challenges we have had to overcome to date. We had to work within the safety regulations specified for the Covid19 pandemic, resequencing the work so that each trade could undertake their tasks within the required safe spacing. This demanded exceptional planning and organisation.

The Westminster Curio hotel’s design is infused with mystery and curiosity which is attributed to its location, being adjacent to the MI5 London headquarters.

The award-winning and unique design features 8 different room types to suit the different guest requirements. The fit out also included the following:

Restaurants

• STK Steakhouse - artfully blends the modern steakhouse and a chic lounge into one, offering a dynamic, fine dining experience with the superior quality of a traditional steakhouse.

• Bao Yum - Sweet or Savory. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Bowling Alley

Single lane bowling alley with a private bar suitable for functions and private events.

Conference facilities

324 sq.m of event space offering four meeting rooms.

Bedrooms

The refurbishment of the guest rooms brought some unusual challenges. The rooms incorporated new curved walls achieved by having each interior built as an individual piece of joinery which was then installed into the room ‘space’. This naturally required extremely accurate construction, working to minute tolerances.

The 464 bedrooms, featured bespoke furniture, walk-in wardrobes, curved niches, and pocket doors separating the bedroom and lobby areas. Bathroom features included rainfall showers, and glass entrance doors.

The final result is a hotel that offers accommodation which is truly different in style and feel.
