Fileturn is run by a dedicated board of directors who have clocked up more than 100 years with the company. That continuity, coupled with their skills, qualifications and experience in all aspects of construction, as well as fit-outs and refurbishments, gives Fileturn a very firm foundation on which we continue to build our business and supply high quality, reliable services to our clients.

Andrew has been at the head of Fileturn since 1994 and has managed its growth and development from a small construction company into one of the country’s leading specialist interior fit out companies. He has overseen a growth in turnover from start up to approaching £50m, and has developed Fileturn into a trusted partner to many major blue chip brands in the restaurant, hotel, banking and commercial sectors. Andrew is currently working on the next stages of Fileturn’s expansion, following relocation to enable the business to meet the ever-changing requirements of the market. Andrew has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Building since 1989
Jim has worked as a PQS and consultant for many years, and has a wealth of experience in his industry. He became a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1989 and regularly acts as a counsellor, supervisor and mentor to trainee Quantity Surveyors as they progress to full membership of the Institution. He became a main board director at Fileturn in 2007. He has overseen the growth of the Fileturn business since his arrival in 2002 as Commercial Director with responsibilities for the commercial management of all projects, from competing for business - whether via traditional tendering, negotiation or based on agreed prices - through the duration of the project until its delivery on time and to budget. Appointed to Managing Director in 2016 Jim overseas a large number of projects concurrently, across all sectors for major blue chip and high street brands.
Bryan is an experienced Contracts Director who has worked with Fileturn for more than 15 years, and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2007. In addition to his role of Contracts Director he also has specific responsibility for Health and Safety throughout the company. He has been in the construction industry for three decades, having started his career with John Laing Construction and gained experience across all disciplines through their Management Training Scheme. He spent a number of years building his own family construction business, before moving into the specialist fit out and refurbishment sector as a contracts manager and surveyor undertaking projects in the retail, commercial and leisure industries. He joined Fileturn in 1999 and in his role as Contracts Director continues to work across all the company’s sites. He has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Building since 1980.
Richard’s role is to manage projects specifically within the hotel and leisure sector, ensuring that this key sector has the focus and specialist knowledge that it demands. Richard oversees the planning and management of all projects, from estimating, through commissioning and progress to the final delivery - on time and to budget. He maintains communication between the team and the client, ensuring that standards of their blue chip, high profile brands are maintained. Richard has a background in contracting, joining Fileturn in 1997, and became a main board director in 2009.
Derek has been with Fileturn as Financial Director and Company Secretary for 15 years, witnessing the growth of the company to take on larger and more complex projects. Derek has had a very varied career, working in senior financial positions in businesses ranging from a UK importer of Italian wine to a technology firm specialising in safety devices for workers at nuclear reactors!
With a background in interior design and design implementation, Shirley oversees projects for the hotel sector, working with many of its key players. Her role as Fileturn's client liaison ensures that all the requirements are met throughout each project to final delivery. Shirley is responsible for setting the overall strategic marketing plan with the ultimate goal of ensuring Fileturn becomes the leading interior fit-out business in the UK.
David is an experienced Quantity Surveyor who started with Fileturn in 2006. He has worked on projects relating to hotels, pubs & restaurants, leisure, spa, gym & conference facilities, schools, factories, offices, hospitals, and residential properties and therefore has a vast knowledge of the fit out industry. David became a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2009 and regularly acts as a counsellor, supervisor and mentor to trainee Quantity Surveyors as they progress to full membership of the Institution. David looks after all commercial aspects of the Fileturn business whilst overseeing many projects throughout all sectors. David was appointed as a main board director at Fileturn in 2018.
Mark started his career working as an Assistant QS for a large Main Contractor on new build projects primarily within the education and defence sectors. Joining the commercial team at Fileturn in 2008 as a QS he quickly became involved in a broad range of projects and established himself as a key part of the team. He became a member of the RICS after completing a BSc in 2013 and in his role as Commercial Manager and Associate Commercial Director has contributed to the growth and development of the Fileturn business by ensuring our delivery of a first-class product is consistent. Appointed to the Main Board at Fileturn in 2018, Mark is now jointly responsible for all commercial aspects of our business from tendering and negotiation, contractual and legal issues, supply chain management through to account settlement and relationship management.
