Fileturn take on Loch Ness

May 10 2022

Mark, Matt and Lee wanted to celebrate Matt's milestone Birthday and raise some money for charity whilst setting themselves a new sporting challenge.

The team decided on Etape Loch Ness 2022, an endurance bike ride around the iconic Loch Ness offering the chance to cycle 66 miles on traffic free roads. The 360° closed-road route around the loch started and finished in the Highland capital of Inverness, offering 900m of ascent. There was a timed King of the Mountain stage, with a 4.8 mile climb gaining 380m in height with a gradient reaching 12% at times.

They completed the ride in just over 4 hours, finished off with a dip in the Loch and raised nearly £1,000 for their chosen charity Macmillan Cancer Support.

Team Fileturn’s next sporting challenge has been set - The Kent Classic in October – a 67 mile bike ride starting and finishing at Lingfield Park.
